His photographic practice and research question notions of heritage, otherness and identity. In particular, his photographs reveal the ways in which subaltern groups interact with their environment, and the ways in which they develop strategies of agency and self-reconstruction. For the past ten years, he has been engaged in long-term photographic research into the memory of slavery and its resistance in post-colonial societies &#8211; the KAM project. The various works produced as part of this project have been exhibited in museums, art centers and festivals in France and around the world, notably at the Centro Italiano per la Fotografia CAMERA (Turin), the Centro de la Imagen (Mexico City), Lagos Photo (Lagos) and the Tropenmuseum (Amsterdam).<\/p>\n<p>He currently lives and works in Paris, where he teaches a seminar on postcolonial approaches of photography at the \u00c9cole nationale sup\u00e9rieure d&#8217;arts de Paris-Cergy.
