Carole Benzaken&#8217;s work is based on a bank of images taken from the press and the media and on a base of personal films and photographs. Working both in the depth of the painted picture and on the surface of the digital medium, the artist stages a multiple theatre, working simultaneously on the inside and the outside, the intimate and the surface, collective code and individual memory. From &#8220;painting&#8221; to the spatial enlargement of painting, her work branches out into various media including video, the volume of the painted image as well as its extension into architectural space.
