They are sometimes sent to storage, sold or bought, buried or trafficked and, eventually, get extracted from larger constellations or a living fabric. Objects thus change hands, which adds to their biographies. They are displaced, gifted, studied copied and reproduced or exhibited. This symposium looks at the mechanisms that accompany these shifts in property and value through artist\u2019s works. From Nefertiti\u2019s bust as plotted by Jean-Christophe Bailly, to the occupation of Palestinian Territories as explained by Avi Mograbi, lies a trip back and forth in time and geography, across media. Dans le contexte \u00e9cologique et politique anxiog\u00e8ne que nous connaissons aujourd\u2019hui, cette exposition propose d\u2019interroger la notion de capsule de temps et d\u2019adresser de nouvelles \u0153uvres au futur. Dix-sept artistes, dont les travaux mettent souvent en jeu des trajectoires et temporalit\u00e9s complexes, sont invit\u00e9s \u00e0 placer une \u0153uvre connue d\u2019eux seuls dans une bo\u00eete d\u2019archives destin\u00e9e \u00e0 \u00eatre ouverte dans 25 ans.<\/p>\n<p>Conjointement \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation de ces capsules de temps, des artistes, musiciens, \u00e9crivains, th\u00e9oriciens de diff\u00e9rentes disciplines et \u00e9tudiants des \u00e9coles d&#8217;art de Paris, Angers et Cergy ont \u00e9t\u00e9 invit\u00e9s \u00e0 cr\u00e9er des pi\u00e8ces sonores imaginant 2045. Pour tenter de s\u2019\u00e9manciper du sentiment d\u2019impuissance face \u00e0 la situation actuelle, et contre la vision d\u2019un futur pr\u00e9dictible r\u00e9duit \u00e0 des calculs de probabilit\u00e9s, ce deuxi\u00e8me volet du projet d\u00e9fend l\u2019importance de l\u2019anticipation et de la fiction sp\u00e9culative pour r\u00e9v\u00e9ler les multiples possibles du pr\u00e9sent et nous inviter \u00e0 l\u2019action. Ces \u0153uvres sonores sont conserv\u00e9es et rendues accessibles au public \u00e0 travers plusieurs types de supports d\u2019enregistrement (vinyle, K7, CD, Mp3, etc.) qui seront ainsi soumis aux effets du temps.<\/p>\n<p>Cette exposition aux Beaux-Arts de Paris constitue le premier rendez-vous d\u2019un projet se d\u00e9veloppant sur 25 ans. Chaque exposition rassemblera les 17 Time capsules scell\u00e9es dans des bo\u00eetes d\u2019archives et les diff\u00e9rents supports analogiques et num\u00e9riques permettant l\u2019\u00e9coute des sons. \u00c0 chaque \u00e9tape seront d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es de nouvelles cr\u00e9ations sonores et performances. On the initiative of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and the European organization EQ-Arts\u2014and involving, in addition to ENSAPC, the Glasgow School of Art, the Athens School of Fine Arts, the Vilnius Academy of Arts, the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, and the Merz Akademie\u2014CrD is exploring at the European level the question of \u201cthe doctorate through artistic practice.\u201d With funding from the Erasmus+ program and the European Union, the program is generating and gathering, over the period 2018\u20132021, knowledge and recommendations based on the expertise and experience of the partner institutions. Conferences (Athens, May 2019; Paris, November 2019; Amsterdam, 2021) and seminars (Stuttgart, February 2020; Nida, August 2020) are designed to share and exchange existing practices and methods, and to think through the creation of a European frame of reference for programs conferring the practice-based doctorate in art.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<strong>Final conference and exhibition at the Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam, from 29 October 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the end of October, the Creator Doctus project will conclude with a conference organized by the Rietveld Academie. The conference will revolve around interventions by artists and researchers and discussion time, and will be partly dedicated to the presentation of the Cr-D book synthesizing the reflections carried out since 2018 on the doctorate through artistic practice on a European scale.<\/p>\n<p>In connection to the conference, an\u00a0exhibition\u00a0will open on Friday 29 October at\u00a0Nieuw Dakota. Curated by\u00a0Astrid Korporaal, the exhibition will present outputs of practice-based research projects in various stages of development. The participating artists are: Arnas Anskaitis, Joan Ayrton, Theodoros Giannakis, Femke Herregraven, Saoirse Higgins, Jane Jin Kaisen and Caroline Meyer-J\u00fcrshof. Continuing the process of reflection begun in Stuttgart, the session encourages exchanges between and among doctoral candidates, artists, and scholars, focusing on methods and funding for research through artistic practice.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<strong>Training Glasgow, February 15-17, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The training series continues in Glasgow (organisation: Glasgow School of Arts).
