Practice-led master's degree in Heritage and Creation

This one-year course brings together practitioners from specific fields (architects, artists or landscapers, but also specialists in literary creation, heritage professions and conservation restoration), to create an interface between the academic world and the professional world.

PRESENTATION

The practice-led master’s degree in Heritage and Creation (specializing in Humanities and creative industries) is a one-year course (with no associated previous first year of a master’s degree – Master 1). By bringing together practitioners from specific fields (architects, artists or landscapers, but also specialists in literary creation, heritage professions and conservation restoration), this master’s degree aims to be an interface between the academic world and the professional world.

The first objective of this master’s degree is to implement a practice-led research, enabling practitioners to take up research again while still carrying out their professional practice. The master’s thesis will thus combine a written report and a project, blending the professional, academic and scientific practices of the students.

The other objectives are:

– to obtain a practice-led master’s degree in the fields of architecture, arts and landscape;

– to become acquainted with research or to resume scientific research for candidates who would be returning to studying;

– to become acquainted with the requirements of research, to contribute to research projects in the students’ professional life;

– to initiate a research work to consider pursuing a doctoral course;

– to benefit from the methodological contribution of practice-led research.

ORGANIZATION AND SPECIALTIES

Organized in two blocks, it consists of:

– a common core of transdisciplinary classes about the principles of practice-led research, as well as heritage and creation, and a workshop practice in the chosen specialty;
